The Arc device was originally developed by doctors from NHS Scotland and patented by Scottish Health Innovations Ltd on behalf of NHS Scotland. The Arc is now manufactured under licence by JRBiomedical Ltd, a UK medical company who supplies diagnostic equipment for special care baby units to help diagnose infections in premature babies.
